Chubb Bolsters Digital Leadership with Two Key Appointments in Digital Business Organization
Wed, September 23, 2026Chubb Limited (NYSE: CB) has expanded its executive leadership team in a move to accelerate its digital transformation. On September 17, 2026, the company announced two significant leadership appointments within its Digital Business organization.
Johan Oosthuizen has been appointed as Chubb’s Global Head of Digital Business, assuming executive responsibility for all aspects of Chubb’s digital operations globally. His portfolio includes overseeing digital partnerships and the deployment of approved products. Oosthuizen transitions from his previous role as Global Digital Chief Technology Officer. In that capacity, he was instrumental in shaping Chubb’s embedded insurance capabilities and digital partnership strategies. He reports to Paul McNamee, President of Overseas General Insurance and EVP, Chubb Group, and will be accountable to Bryce Johns, President of Chubb Life.
Gabriel Lazaro joins as Global Head of Digital Growth & Strategic Consumer Partnerships. Lazaro’s responsibilities encompass managing partnerships across digital platforms and ecosystems, identifying growth opportunities, and enhancing collaboration across Chubb’s P&C and Life Insurance operations. He reports to both Paul McNamee and Johan Oosthuizen. Lazaro brings extensive experience from his prior roles: he joined Chubb in 2016 as Digital Lead for Latin America, and later became EVP and Head of Digital Business for Overseas General Insurance. Before joining Chubb, he held senior digital roles at AIG.
These appointments reflect Chubb’s concerted effort to scale its digital initiatives and deepen its partnership ecosystem amid evolving customer expectations and technological advances. The moves follow the earlier naming of Sean Ringsted as Chief Scientist and EVP, underscoring the company’s strategic emphasis on AI, data, and analytics as pillars of its digital transformation strategy.
While the market has not indicated clear immediate stock price reactions to these changes, they signal a broader—and increasingly pivotal—shift in Chubb’s approach to digital innovation and strategic growth.
With these leadership enhancements, Chubb positions itself to more effectively leverage digital channels, expand its embedded insurance offerings, and foster partnerships that align with evolving customer behaviors and global digital ecosystems. Investors and stakeholders may watch for how these appointments translate into tangible business outcomes via expanded digital revenue streams or enhanced customer engagement.
